Everything you want to know

Mr Paul Burnett was a successful businessman and entrepreneur who arrived in the UK from Calabar, modern day Nigeria in the 1920s.

He owned the Myrtle Bank and the Rendezvous - the two were popular nightclubs that operated in London's Soho district in the 1950s.

The Myrtle Bank was located at 33 Gerrard Street and was known for its live Jazz music and entertainment. It was a popular hangout for artists, musicians, and bohemians of the time.
The Myrtle Bank was known for its relaxed and informal atmosphere, and its patrons included famous jazz musicians such as Ronnie Scott and Tubby Hayes

The Rendezvous was located at 200 Oxford Street and was known for its live Jazz music and entertainment. The Rendezvous was a larger and more formal venue than the Myrtle Bank and was popular with a broader audience, including tourists and local Londoners. The club's performers included jazz musicians such as Johnny Dankworth, Cleo Laine, and Chris Barber.

Both the Myrtle Bank and The Rendezvous were important cultural institutions in London's Soho district in 1950s, contributing to the thriving jazz and nightlife scene of the time.

Mr Paul was my Great-Grandfather and this business is dedicated to his memory.
